Thomas Doll
Sorry but I am Computer newbie in this area, I need to change my permissions and have no clue how to do this. I am using WS_FTP and my site is hosted on dreamhost. I also need to know which folder is actually my root folder. Anyone?
tubarao21
Hi. Well i?m a newbie too and i just passed by the same question. I'm using CuteFtp and should be the same for WS_Ftp. While online click with your right button on the file/folder that u desir. Then you'll have a menu with properties or/and CHMOD. By now you must have a field to enter the permission (775,777,644, etc...) Good luck.
♥Vger
If you are hosted on an Apache server then you can do as described above, but not if you are hosted on a Windows based server. The CHMOD function is specific to Apache servers. For Windows servers go to your web hosting control panel, locate the File Manager and use that to reset permissions.
