Different shipping fee for different items?

So the title says it, some items in the shop require a different shipping amount, so I would like to make shipping item specific. Most of the time flat rate is fine, just not always and it looks pretty unprofessional to charge more without telling the customer.

any advice?

thanx in advance!

"The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.

Don't know if this will help or not, but....I'll try.

I sell back issues of magazines...internationally.

So, I use the table rate method for US and Canada. $2.50 for the first issue and 50-cents for each additional issue.

It reads like.......1:2.50, 2:3.00, 3:3.50....you get the idea.

For foreign customers, I use the Zone Rate method. $6.00 for the first issue and $1.00 for each additional.

It reads: 1:6.00, 2:7.00, 3:8.00 and so on.

You'll have to specify when setting up those things....table rate and zone...which countries are to get what. Other than that, it's a walk in the park.
