jac2809
I'm sorry but I'm not much of a developer and I need help. When I look into the source code with Internet Explorer or Mozilla, I can see the code at the top of the page where I can put my keywords, description, title, and other meta tags. My problem is I can't find the file where I can do that. My server does not have a file called 'header_tags.php' or any other such file. But the meta tags are there. Where can I edit them? Thanks. Jack_mcs
Which version of Header Tags to you have. If it is relatively recent, then look in admin->Header Tags. If not, you will need to edit the includes/header_tags.php and/or includes/languages/english/header_tags.php. My site is working fine (http://www.silkflowerpalace.com) but I need to put some keywords on the osCommerce index page (http://www.silkflowerpalace.com/catalog/index.php) and don't know where to edit the page I see live. I can see the meta tags when I look at the page source with Internet Explorer (view - page source) but can't find the file where I would be able to edit the meta tags. Repeat: I don't have a file called header_tags.php anywhere. Thanks.
Jack_mcs
Oh, I assumed you had Header Tags installed since you mentioned it in your post. I looked at your site and you don't have it, or any such contribution installed. Oscommerce doesn't come with meta tags so there is no place to edit them. You may be getting confused by your entrance page. That is a regular html page with meta tags. Those you can edit by editing that file. However, to be honest, it would be a waster of time. That entrance page is going to kill your chances of getting a decent SE position. It should be removed and your shop needs to be moved to the root directory. Sometimes you have to decide if you want pretty or functional. In any event, you will need to install a contribution like Header Tags in order to properly setup meta tags in your shop.
