Backing up

>_< I was trying to back up my stuff but when I went to that part of the instructions, well let's just say mypage looks nothing like the illustrations so I'm lost. Can anyone help me?

I'm assuming you mean phpmyadmin? Click on your database, then click on the export link up top, think it's the third.

Should be a table there with all your stuff in it with a menu to the left, I always choose "structure and data", click on select all below that, then go underneath the table and you can choose to save it in zip format or gzipped.

I don't know what that means but when I go here http://www.oscommerce.info/docs/english/e_...ase_backup.html to find out how to back up my catalog my files manager looks nothing like those pictures. And when I click on tools in my admin I get this Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php. at the top of the page but I don't know what to do about it.

I had that error also, until I went into my file manager, via my hosting company access (cPanel in my case) and created a file called "backups" (within your admin file). Once I did that, that error went away.

THEN, when you go into the Tools section of the cart Admin panel, you have a button to click to back up - you have to decided how you want the back up from three choices - that last choice being to save to your computer, which is probably the safest choice.

Do you mean create new directory in admin?

Hey thanks that worked, thanks a lot. Now if I go to contributions and say upload something to catalog, and I upload the catalog file in the contribution, that is not going to erase everything that's already in my catalog file is it? It should just add to it right?
