A Very Strange Day Before Christmas

This is so strange to me, I just to share this with everyone.

 

Yesterday I took my girlfriend & her grand daughter(3) over to the little girl's father's mother's house around 3:45pm. I dropped them off, and I came back home and worked on my computer. My girlfriend called me around 6pm to come pick her up. I got there in about 20 minutes or so... so when I got there, they saw me and they started coming out the house.

 

My girlfrend load up the girl in her booster car seat and was set. After she secured the girl, before I could put the van in "D" my girlfriend said:

Kevin, You wouldn't guess in a million years what Bessie(other grand mother) got for Christmas!"

 

Then I said:

Well, I'm not going to try to guess then

 

She said something.. I didn't hear her so I asked her:

What did you say? I didn't even hear what you just said

 

and then she said:

A grandson

 

I said

A grandson? Who's child of hers?

 

and then I added on with

Yeah, and I bet his name is Rickey

 

And I still haven't drove off yet, I look over at her and she's shaking her head up&down, up&down

 

And then I said:

Now way...

 

and she's still noding her head up&down.

 

Then I said:

Come on be serious!

 

She said:

I'm serious, the little boys name is Rickey

 

And then I said:

Mannnnn, what are the odd's of a person guessing a name and getting it right without guessing, and having millions of names to haven chosen from?

 

Then I said:

Not in a million years that would ever happen like that. I'm glad I wasn't in a forced position to make a call like that, with the odds against you like that

 

 

It was so strange to me at that moment to have named him without guessing.

 

I ask myself:

What are your odds of doing it again? probably 1 in 1,000,000,000
