Taking the Lead
Hi I have just uploaded a shop for my wife and over the past few days have uploaded many items into many categories and everything looked good. Then I let her loose on her own and she appeared to do everything right except when I looked this morning there were fewer categories. No explanation so I simply backstepped and restored the database from an earlier time. Then I was flooded with error messages. I looked in the MySQL and could see that there was nothing saved after Products ... no sessions etc.. THe only way I could see was to re-run a clean OSC MySQL and re-build the database - this worked okay and after minor adjustments I was back to square one except I have only the default catagories, all mine have gone. Not being sure of the problem I restored the database again from an even earlier time with the same problem occuring - loads of error messages and a shorten database. I have re-run the clean OSC MySQL and re-built the database and I am very wary of tryng to restore the database again. I can see the images to the lost catagories/items are still there in the folder. If I open up a saved MySQL backup database I can read the various catagories and items complete with descriptions - but I am stumped. Is there any way to recover the lost data?? 241
There may be an error in the sql that you are trying to restore but you are not getting an error message or it could be a timeout and again no error message. If you are able to view the sql then you could try restoring sections at a time via phpmyadmin. No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. I also realised what the problem was, one of the items didn't save correctly and once I deleted it and uploaded the remainder - it was back to normal - Yippee Have a great Xmas John
