Anyway, we're going to cut to the chase and forget all of the invitations and blah blah, whatever else. I know a lot of people would love to offer the same feature that I want, I am going to pay for the development of the contribution because I have connections like that, but I am looking for help on what should be included in this contributions I am getting developed. It will be a Layaway Option contribution and once I have it developed I am going to most likely offer this as a contribution in the contribution database for everybody to use and I'll most likely stick to the programmers I hire in case any other features on it need to be developed out. I am adding in the porposal though that it must be bug free and I need custom writing of which files need to be edited and what needs to be changed. Throw your opinions in everybody, this'll probably be the coolest if it is finished. cannuck1964 Posted December 23, 2005 Share Posted December 23, 2005 I would suggest you modify the gift voucher system to deal with this. Instead of a credit, they have a negitive value, and when it reaches zero, then notify the store owner that the item (s) have been paid for. This same process can have a cron set up to automatically email people to remind them of the outstanding balance. The payment system would need some minor changes, so that it knows that that the item is on lay-a-way, and allow for multiple payments made against the account balance. As well, I would suggest a tool be added to see what have been placed on lay-a-way and the balances due. You may want to put restrictions in place as well, to make sure payments are made at some set frequency, or paid in some time frame, as well as the ability to turn off the lay-a-way option, so you do not have to have many items placed in this state (too many means inventory being stored without any cash flow). cheers and hope this gives a few ideas.... I think the module has to have to following option and features: 1 Only for members with account (even if store has pwa installed) 2 verification abililty like info that has to be provided before customer is able to put on layaway 3 minimum sales amount before layaway option is provided 4 deposit amount 5 number of payments (depend sales amount or timeframe) 6 the zone you allow layaway 7 selection option on payment page 8 text in product info that states layaway option (button or text) 9 accept or deny option for store owner in admin 10 notification when payment received or when payment due 11 invoice stating payment received and payment due after each payment (optional) 12 invoice stating payment received in full 13 layaway faq page Thats what I was able to come up for now, hopes it help.
