Eugene_a
Hello everyone, my name is Eugene, and I am new to this board. I've been doing web application development for about 5 years now, so I'm generally experienced with just about every form of CGI that's out there, including php/mysql, which is what I do most of my work in. In any case, now that the brief introduction is out of the way, I have the following dilemma/question. I am likely going to be setting up an osCommerce store in the near future. I currently have an install which I'm just playing around with to familiarize myself with the software. I took a look at the reporting section, and didn't seem to find any sort of source-of-awareness and conversion tracking options. I was wondering if I'm just not finding the feature somewhere, whether osCommerce just doesn't have that feature, or if there's some sort of an add-on module available with that sort of tracking functionality. If you aren't clear as to what "source-of-awareness" tracking is, it's essentially having the ability to track where my customers came from. IE: I pay my friends Bob and Nancy to place ads for my store on their sites, and I want to track the clickthroughs that came from the different sites, and then be able to track how many of those clicks actually created customer accounts, bought something, etc, with the ability to break it up by the source (ie. Bob's site or Nancy's site, etc.). Thanks in advance for your information!
