PHP_Newb
Hi when I add a new catagory and products within that I see the Header Tags option for Descrition Title etc. But when I look at the pages I am left with the Default Title and Keywords etc. Is it capable of doint this. I thought that was the point. I can get it to do all the static pages like Homepage/Contact Us etc but not products Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks for your time. Jack_mcs
When you add a new category or product, you have to fill in the header tags fields. You can do this manually or by going to admin->Header Tags->Fill Tags and selecting fill empty. PHP_Newb
Doesn't appear to work. I'm working locally on my system here on local host the files arent read only but somehow when I fill product/catagory tags nothing appears just default. I had a similar problem with the homepage but manually changed that. Where would I manually change the Products and Catagories rather than trying to do it this way. Thanks for your suggestion
Jack_mcs
In admin->Catalog. Just click on the category or product and then on edit. If I have a catagory called "Shapes" and try and make the title Shapes where I edit it int the catalogue section and add Keywords etc all I get after updating it is the Standard Keywords and Title that are for the Homepage. Jack_mcs
Then you have a mistake it the installation it appears. If you change the title as you mentioned, tehn go back into the item to view the title (in admin), does it have the new title you just entered? If not, then your categories file is not working correctly. Try replacing it with the one from the contribution. If that works, then you will need to compare the two files to find the problem. Jack Yeah can see it in the product under admin the text is there just not in the page when viewed. Ahh well I dunno. Just one of those things I guess. I had to go into each file and add all the necessary code as it wasnt a fresh install so perhaps somethings wrong somewhere but who knows where. My shop works fine and I have tweeked many things in OScommerce but cant get this to function properly. Thanks for your help though Jack. PHP_Newb
Ok here's what is happening. I enter the data Update here When I go back this is what I get it seems to have written the catagory name into the other fields. If I look at the catagory the default <Meta> Page Titile appears and Meta Keywords and Description havent changed they are also the default. :( It is fucnctioning but not in the way it should. Anyone have any ideas. Such a shame because I can see it has worked great for others, and I can get it to work if I add Meta data to pages like "Contact Us" etc , that all works fine. I look forward to any suggestions. Chris
Jack_mcs
Did you add the code to the head section of product_info.php? Someone else had this same problem and it was resolved but I don't remeber what it turned out to be. But it was posted in the Header Tags support thread so you should be able to find the answer there.
