kywee
This is an error I get when I am in configuring settings in the admin area. Any idea how to add that to my configure.php file? Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php.
Jack_mcs
It just means that the actual directory does not exist. It doesn't come as part of the oscommerce package. You need to create a directory named backups in the admin directory and make sure its permissions are set to 755 (or 777 if required). Guest
What if the file does exists, as mentioned above, and I still get the same error message?
Guest
Actually, it's listed as "backup.php", but when I rename it as either "backups.php" or just plain "backup", I get a page not found when I click on "Tool" in the Admin Panel. I changed it back to "backup.php" and everything is back to original with the same error message. Edit- ok, I created a new FOLDER called "backups" and that fixed the error problem *grins*
Guest
Sorry, another question. I am making a back up for the first time. I am in "tool" in the Admin Panel...and I clicked on "backup". Now, on the right hand side, it gives a few options... No Compression "Pure SQL" Use GZIP Download Only (do not store server side) What do each of these mean and which is the best/easiest? Jack_mcs
No Compression "Pure SQL" - Store the database on the server in sql format. Use GZIP - Store the database on the server in gzip (saves space) Download Only (do not store server side) - Downloads the file to your computer.
