kingles Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Hello, I am attempting to change the color scheme on my site via the stylesheet.css file. However, the changes I've made are not showing. It's like I haven't done anything at all. The admin shows the file as being updated and when I click "edit" for the stylesheet.css file my changes are there. But they are not showing up on my site. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what am I doing wrong? Thanks, Kevin I.

You want to make sure that you refresh the page and maybe even open up a new browser because the stylesheet will cache and you won't see the changes right away. What I usually do in that particular situation to make sure I'm not going crazy is to make a very dramatic change, like change the background in the body style to black. If that doesn't produce a change, view the source of the page, make sure there isn't something funny going on with the path to the stylesheet. Be well, Tina If you're not having fun you're not doing it right Teach a person to fish rather than give them a loaf of bread or however that saying goes.

Thanks, Kevin I. click refresh, you are having a cache issue, a good tool for firefox browser is the web development toolbar they have, it is free and lets you odify the css without really modifying it, so you can see what will happen before you actually do it. It also has some really cool features besides this, imho it is a must for any web design. "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"

kingles Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Thank you everyone for your advice! It helped me figure out the problem and I now have it corrected. Using Mozilla was a lifesaver. Thanks for the suggestion! Kevin I.
