Hi Guys

Is there a way to temporarily turn your oscommerce store ?off? over the holidays? As in close the shop so to speak, without deleting or removing it from the web. More so if you could simply close up and disable the shopping cart etc. I am going away over the holidays and Im a bit of a one-man show, so I need to cease trading for a few weeks.

Any help would be appreciated, perhaps there?s a contrib Im missing?

Thanks in advance!

If your webserver setup will list index.html or index.htm before index.php, then a quick and dirty way would be to compose a "we're out for the holidays" page and save/upload it as index.html.

You could "view source" on index.php in your browse to get the layout the same.

Another idea would be to just add text to your index page that you're still accepting orders, but that all orders placed after xxxx date will be filled after you return from holiday. That way you can still allow your customers to place orders, but they know that they won't get their products for a bit longer.
