tegralens Posted December 17, 2005 Share Posted December 17, 2005 I had the Header Tags Controller installed on my site for a while and just today I just installed the Ultimate SEO URLs that was by Chemo. My question is by adding the Ultimate SEO URLs will that help my site to get on more search engines and work better then if I only had the Header Tags Controller installed? They may help a little if you have long url's for the products but that's all. Given a choice, I would install them both but a properly optimized site wih Header Tags will list as well with or without Ultimate SEO, although the listing may appear quicker with Ultimate SEO. The "Ultimate SEO URL" contrib puts category and product names in the URL so that search engines find keywords in the URLs (which helps ranking). In fact, there was a recent article that said that google was going to stop, or already has stopped, giving them any weight at all. It won't hurt to have them and I always recommend it just for the more readable url's. But if it weren't for that, I wouldn't bother installing it since the efffect would be so minor.
