Guest Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Maybe this will help some of the others with sendmail issues. I have done all of the configuration elements available in the admin system, but I do not see where you can identify and Authorised email user id and password for send mail. My hosting company has set their configuration up to block spammers by only allowing sendmail to be used by authorized email accounts. I have installed several other PHP open source systems and most of them have a configuration element where you can set the authorised email user and password. When I have done this on those systems they work just fine, but I have been unable to find that configuration option in OsCommerce. Have I missed something?
♥Vger Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Have I missed something No, 'sendmail' is a native PHP function. Your hosts have done something very unusual with sendmail. Requiring User Name and Password is normally only required of SMTP. Provided that you have an SMTP service you can switch 'sendmail' to 'smtp' in your osC e-mail settings and then use a contribution which allows for smtp requiring user name and password. Vger

It may be unusual, but several of the other packages support it, phpBB2, dotProject, and PHPCoin and they are no where as advanced as osCommerce.... Sorry, I just find this a bit odd, but I will check out your solution.
Guest Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I have just searched the contrbutions section and have not found any SMTP or email configuration posts. Any suggestions....
