Ok, first off I get an error message when i click on file manager:

Warning: dir(/home/shawdow2/customtubesinc-www): failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/shawdow2/customtubesinc-www/catalog/admin/file_manager.php on line 178

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/shawdow2/customtubesinc-www/catalog/admin/file_manager.php on line 179

also, I went by the video tutorial and trying to get rid of the images for my account, cart etc on the header.

well using dreamweaver 8 i edited the file and then uploaded the new saved and edited file. images are not gone.

I have seen conflict on not using the file manager and using an editor.

You should not use the file manager to edit files - use a proper programmer's text editor or simply notepad.

Restore the files from your backup and start again! :D

Try a crtl f5 to force a refresh, the pages may be cached and it will do a forced refresh.

If that does not work then when you get ready to ftp the new version of your files to the server just delete the old one first.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

ok i'm up and running here, for some reason dreamweaver was not saving the files directly after i saved them. I used word pad and it's working like a charm.

Wordpad can possibly leave artifacts in your code that can cause problems - try notepad instead.
