Quantity Discount

Hello,

 

I am trying to implement a discount system where I want to exclude a handful of items from this calculation. I will utilized the standard discount module where there is a discount at 3+ items and another one at 10+ items. I want to exclude certain products from the quantity total so that if someone orders 9 of something and 1 of a non-discount item, they would get the 3+ discount rate. Has anyone done this or know of a contribution that will accomodate my needs? If we can maintain this from the admin tool, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the idea. The discount I want to apply is to the entire order quantity, not per product. The contribution you mention seems to involve adding attributes to each product which is not the intent. Ideally, I need to count the total number of items in the shopping cart and then apply the discount - except for the products I specify.
