How Spiders works?

Hi guys!

 

I dont really know how spiders works!

I've normal text in my osC index page into tables for store description, etc and also normal <a> tags with links to other site pages, and using spiders simulators they could not find them.

If I place all text and links inside an "hidden" <div> tag at the end of the page, or inside a regular <div> but with html comment tags <!-- --> then all of them are being found by the spider simulator.

I've been told that this practice is considered like SPAM by spiders but i dont know what to do...

 

Any ideas ?
