gammada Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 After several days of being on-line, my store suddenly displayed a warning in the top saying that configure.php in the includes folder was writeable. After modifying permissions from both my FTP client and directly on the control panel of my own account the problem persist! I didn't modify anything so am left wondering why is this happening!! Help please!

Help please! What does the file manager in your control panel say the permissions are? What kind of server are you on? What are you trying to set the permissions to? The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
gammada Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 What does the file manager in your control panel say the permissions are? What kind of server are you on? What are you trying to set the permissions to? I've changed permission settings to 644, 704 and 744 but nothing seems to revert the warning. My server is Linux/ Apache and I'm trying to get rid of that warning. BTW My hosting provider just informed me that they are using a security measure called phpsuexe to prevent spam exploits from scripts and this seems to be affecting permissions over at PHP files. Any ideas as to how to correct this? Thanks

Guest Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 As far as I'm aware the permissions for the configure.php file should be set to: 400 This should make the file read only for the user and no access for anyone else at least this is the permissions that were on my config file from default install you should be able to change them in your control panel with the file manager. As to why it's happening unfortunately I don't know the answer to this, maybe you accidently changed perms without realising it? or it could be something more sinister I hope someone out there is able to pinpoint the problem. Hope this helps regards Lowly
