Guest
What are the options for the secure storage of credit card information? I searched the forums about this and found very little clear and consise information. Some people say that depending on the country you www server is located it might be illegal to store them. But which countries are they? The other major issue is encription. - at the moment all ccard info on my version of osc is not encripted. What options are people using to get around this? The best solution I've read about is a mod that will split the ccard number but so far I've not found any countribution that will do this. - Can anyone give me a pointer? Kind Regards, Rob

Kind Regards, Rob To make this clear first, to store cc info is asking for trouble.....You can and will be held liable for any breach/leak of such information. But to go on..... To split cc info is actually part of the standard cc module in oscommerce.... You can add email encryption with: Click here.... or go for cc encryption with: Click here.... Guest
Many thanks toyicebear, I should have looked to see what the art of the possible was in standard osc before checking the forums! I've now implemented the ccard split for manual orders, and deleted all old ccard info. I did not need it anyway. The pgp element looks 2b OMH so I've instructed our companies consultants to implement it. Many thanks for the reply. Rob
