Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Please help me. I'm new to all of this and I don't know how to change the information people see when they get to my site's home page. It has instructions on how to change it, but I'm lost. I would really appreciate someone telling me how to change this.

ryanm527 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I am wanting to do something similar..... just add my own static html to the homepage. I have customized my site a whole lot, but am having trouble with this particular thing. Someone had suggested a CMS contrib, but I think what I want to do can be accomplished without going quite that in depth.... if I can just figure out how! ;)
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 There are a few ways. There's a Contribution called Define Homepage that may help. You can also drop html in the language file in place of all that default text. Just be careful how you do it. The table structure of your site is complex and built by many files. It's easy to muck it up. Oh, and be sure to put a backslash before any single quote marks so you don't close the php call. It will break your site. The other way is to hard code html into the index.php file in the default page part. It isn't easy either, but it can be done.
