changing order numbers

Hello,

 

My server went out last night. Long story short, I lost 2 days worth of orders in the database. Luckily I have them printed out.

I noticed that new orders had the same number as ones I lost. In other words, it started counting were it left off.

To save confusion with duplicate order numbers, I placed an order myself, then went into my database and changed the number manually. It appears to have worked. But I wonder if there will be any unforseen (by me) problems with this. I should have asked first. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
