♥Vger Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 If you are referring to the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN then the good news is that you can revert to the default Pay Pal module at any time - as the IPN is a stand-alone set of files. The bad news is that there are known issues with the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN, but no one seems to be responding to them at the moment. Vger Quote

If I revert back to the default Paypal module, will she have to change her Paypal account back as well? Thanks for the response. Any response is better than nothing. At least we know someone is listening :) Angel Quote
Guest Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 hi thanks for the response i have tried 4 different paypal modules and i get the same problem with all of them. testing or live. the cart is always zero amount. if i enter an amount and continue it works fine if i try to update the cart it say's The recipient of this shopping cart link is not an approved shopping cart user. Please review your selection and try again. i find this paypal ipn really confusing it seems straight forward to setup but a nightmare if it's not working. it's probably something really simple and i will probably end up kicking my own butt I got a reply from paypal support saying Instant Payment Notification POSTs information to your server after a transaction completes. IPN will not cause problems with your shopping cart sending items to PayPal. If you are able to find the variables that are being passed to PayPal when you receive the message that your Shopping Cart is empty we will be happy to help. need to get this working or my shop will never get of the ground Quote
Guest Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 this paypal inp is a complete nightmare. i went back to a new installation of oscommerce and paypal settings and went through it step by step. no matter what i do when i click confirm order the amount reads zero. payapl does not copy the cart amount. i have been trying for weeks to get this working with every module availible and cannot find any answers anywhere to this problem. trying new installations and different modules the problem must have something to do with the notify_url post but i do not understand how it works yet. i know loads of other are having the same problem. anyone know how to fix this problem please let me know. ♥Vger Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Hi, If you are using the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN then you don't need to sign up on the Pay Pal site to use their IPN service - that's all handled by the contribution. Maybe this has something to do with your problem? I find it still advisable though to sign-up for their Auto-Return feature. Vger My client has already changed her settings in Paypal to IPN.
