Use the server admin that your host provided, cPanel or Vdeck.

There should be a place to password protect a folder.

Password protect the admin folder.

Once you get your SSL all in order then you may want to put the whole Admin section behind the SSL. This is defined in admin/includes/configure.php

If I'm giving advice, it is based on what path I would take to fix your problem. My path may be wrong.

Sorry, not sure on what to add into this file to put the admin section behind SSL. I am assuming

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/admin');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/admin');

Could you clarify.

Many thanks

Steven

Thanks

I am finding that when a customer goes into their account and the padlock is showing, if they then click on say cart or a category, the pad lock dissapears.

Is this normal? I assumed that once logged on, every page would be secure?

Hmm, just looked at Amazon and same seems to happen there.

No, OsCommerce was not designed as that way. In original OsCommerce, the pad lock only showes up when the customer is checking out.

However, you can apply your whole site(catalog) under SSL, but it will slow down the speed.

I think it's normal. Then once they get to their checkout info, it locks again.

I looked on the osCommerce test site, and that's how mine works.
