yoursize
On the first few installation screens of osCommerce I get the error message - A test connection made to the database was NOT successful Host 'lentech' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server - Has anyone got a resolution to this problem...? I am running a Windows 2000 pro PC that has IIS installed (used for other development) and also MySQL 5 along with PHP 4.3.6. All applications installed without a hitch which has left me even more confused. I have checked and rechecked all my passwords, settings and usernames for the osCommerce DB that I created and still no success. I have Norton Internet Security and AntiVirus software installed on my PC and even stopped both of these and tried again, still with no success. Can anyone help please.... Fireweed
I am not sure on Windows; but on Linux Based, quite often the Database Servername has to be : localhost for MySql.
yoursize
Thanks for the reply as I am at a dead end. I have tried my PC name as suggested in the error message and I have also tried local host which then gives me the error message 'Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client' but I am using MySQL 5 sothis error message seems well out of sorts. Any other views or suggestions would be very greatly received. Yoursize
