Guest Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 do you have access to your file structure at your host? If so, look for a directory (folder) with the name oscommerce or possibly just catalog in it. Then, you should go to yourdomain.com/thefolder and see if it is loaded and running. There will be instructions on getting started on the main page of the catalog. There's also the knowledge base here to help. You can also read my second blog entry; it has some starter basics.
Guest Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Ok, let's pick this up fresh. Based on your messages, you know little about programming. Tell us what you do know. Some html? Lots of html? Php is just like html on steroids except that higher projects like osCommerce use it to interact with the database. The power is great but the learning curve is, too.

Guest Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Ok, I rarely say this because I love osC, but I think you'd be happier with a different solution. Try a prebuilt shop setup or a Yahoo Shop for now. Study osC some more and see if you can climb the hill of the learning curve. In the long run, it is a much better solution for an online business. I just think you'd be very frustrated if you tried it now. There are books on osC, too, as well as other help sites.
