Kathryn Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Hi, I've installed OsCommerce with the intention of using it to sell photo prints. I'm wondering if any other users use it for this or similar purpose and what the easiest way to do this is? I'm aiming to sell various sizes of print at differing prices and with a matt or gloss option, but don't want to have to enter the print in as a seperate product for each size and style as there would be hundreds of listings! Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks, Kathryn
♥Vger Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Yes, I did a site a while ago which included both original artwork and limited edition prints of the work. You need to read up on using Product Attributes, which will allow you to narrow down the number of entries for each print. You'd probaly need one entry for Matt and another for Gloss, but once you've done that you can provide the same print in varying sizes. Vger
Guest Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I'm using OSC to sell prints that i take at football (soccer) matches. I'm only selling 1 size at the moment so haven't jumped into the attributes yet have a look at http://www.fcumgallery.co.uk/shop
Kathryn Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 Thanks for your replies guys, they have been extremely helpful to me. I think I've cracked it, but now the pricing is getting me stuck! Firstly I'll show you an example - a very rough example http://www.photorom.com/oscommerce/ I don't really want to set a base price in the main product window, as the price is going to vary according to size, but I was forced to. If you choose (gloss) and a larger than 4x6 print, the price goes into minus figures! Any ideas on how I can just have varying prices for varying sizes? Much appreciated!
