thekar2 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I know exactly what I did in retrospect but I need some guidance. I am not able to get into my admin area because of it. I opened an index file and in some of my files I need to add an before an "\" before an "n" I save. I did that for one of my index files because I noticed there were a bunch of n's without it and I thought I was cute and knew whwat I was doing. Right after I saved, I checked the site and it seemed fine, so I kept everything as is. I did not realize that would affect my logging in the next time - I am still learning. Is it possible to access that file to get it back to 'normal' without logging into my hosting site and restoring a backup? Hope you can help... Thanks
Jack_mcs Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 It is difficult to say without seing the problem but I don't think what you did would prevent the login function from working. Try replacing the file you changed with the one in the oscommerce install package (be sure to backup yours first). If the problem goes away, then you will need to compare the two files. Otherwise, the problem is elsewhere. thekar2 Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 you can access your files via an ftp program I had someone making my changes for me every once in a while and when I did, I was using the os commerce admin application and it always changed my files somehow. I never realized my web hosting control panel had them too. duh. I found the file and there was one 'n' that I forgot to put the \ in front of. For some reason after I did that, I was able to log in to the admin site. Lesson learned... thanks for your help.
