Hi,

Im not a web expert and am trying to us this great tool that is OScommerce.

As a record collector, I had the idea of selling my collection on the internet.

So, I uploaded OSCommerce on my server directly, without working on it offline.

So when I clcik on the Install page, it says "Database Import". But I havent created any database yet!!!

Must I create my database of records on MySql before installing OSC, or can I install it and then on-goingly create my database.

If I have to create it prior to the installation, do you have tips to create one the proper way?

THANK YOU for your help. BB

You will need to create a user and a blank database so that osC can run the install

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

after the install you can add all your products very easily thru your admin section, it will be at www.yoursite.com/admin or catalog/admin, whichever way you set it up. If your cpanel has fantastico then chances are that there is an easy install thru fantastico.

"The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.
