h2oguyofnh Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Okay here is my progress in works via STS which is giving me some fits: http://chriskofer.com/wwp2/ I've also loaded it some via EP and that created many duplicate products. I see that I need to make longer product names available (probably via sql manipulation). here is my live store http://wellwaterproducts.com/ Considering this is basically an online hardware store, is my effort to mess around with sts not really worth it? I think I need to project "You can do it" and "we've got the stuff" to my buyer. I'm starting to feel that my real effort should be in loading my items to have many little things so that a person is convinced they can make it one-stop shopping. I was hoping to use sts to elaborate on each category when a person arrives there since it supports individual templates per category. I think I need a picture of a middle-age guy and maybe his wife fixing a pump or something like that on the top logo?and enjoying it. Okay, abuse me. I would like a tip on how to limit the width of the display and drop in a background image on the margins without using sts. ck
FSUddin Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I gotta say, I prefer your older site a lot better. It looks a lot cleaner and organized. The sts site has too much blue and the watermark logo in the background is distracting. i just think your current store looks more put together and id be more likely to buy from it. I dont use Sts so I dont know what additional functionality you get out of it. I hope this helps. FSUddin

I may just learn a bit more about style sheets and stop pretending that I'm a good page designer. I suppose I could just dig up a contrib which lets me do a bit more selling each time a person chooses a category by allowing a lengthy description. The html pages contrib that installed should allow me to dump in lots of good advice that eventually will help my rankings. I had a contrib that I should put back in: it puts the item name in the title of the page. This seems to help with searches quite a bit. ck
