ozcsys Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 hey guys Anyone know how I can get banners to target the same page, rather then opening in a new window? Thanks much! Go to your includes/functions/banner.php file and look for the target="_blank" in the file redirect and remove it. That is the html code that causes the new window to open. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
mugitty Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I was recently looking at this same issue because I had a mixture of banners with links to other websites that I wanted to open in a new window and banners that advertised pages within my site that I wanted to open in the same window. On initial testing, it appears that if I create a banner using the "HTML Text" area with no "Banner URL" in Banner Manager, I can cause the banner to be presented with a click opening it in the same window, while banners created with the "Banner URL" part of the Banner Manager will continue to be opened in a new window. HTML Text example: <a href="http://yoursite.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2662"><img src="http://yoursite.com/catalog/images/banners/local_product.gif"></a> I haven't tested yet to see if sessions are saved when the html created (own site) banners are clicked on. ... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking, try being a Foster Parent!
