Guest Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Hi! Yes, I believe now it's ready to go live. Next week I'll add the products and start selling...or not... Please tell me anything that might help. Keep in mind that it's a site dedicated to parents and children, meant not only to sell things but also offer information and a place to relax...hopefully. It's one of the 6 or so sites with this subject in my country so I'll be fighting to make it the best. And what do you think about adding a forum? When should this be done? Because I want to create, in time, of course, a community, a place where people want to come over and over again. Yes...this should generate sales too. So, hit me and help me! :) Thank you! See my site here Oh, and I haven't added yet the key words and description...
Guest Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Your site is adorable! Makes me want to run out and get a husband and have babies! LOL! I clicked on the gallery photo link on the top left of your homepage and received this error at the bottom of the next screen: Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/muccelmi/public_html/muccelmic/includes/footer.php on line 18 Honestly, there's so much to look at it would take all day to browse thru it all. It definitely has the feel of a website that one could stay in for hours and look at this and play with that. You've obviously put a lot of work into this site; looks great! Andrea

It sure makes me want to go on! As for that error, I asked on the forums, tried my self but couldn't figure it out. I'd be really grateful if aome one could give me a solution or at least a clue. Thanks again.
h2oguyofnh Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Thanks so much Andrea for such a positive first reply. It sure makes me want to go on! As for that error, I asked on the forums, tried my self but couldn't figure it out. I'd be really grateful if aome one could give me a solution or at least a clue. Thanks again. It has a nice feel for the market. It renders a bit wide on my imac (15" display running at 1024 pixels wide). I had to scroll left to right. Again, your design is pleasant. ck

Again, your design is pleasant. ck Thanks, ck! That's exactly what I was looking for...a nice feel. I'm not sure though what to do about this scrolling problem. I thought if I insatlled center page and set the shop at 800PX wide I wouldn't have any trouble. Is there any thing I can do to fix this? Oh, and how's the loading time for those using a dial up connexion? Because I'm afraid it's quite big and I have no idea yet how to fix this, if it's so.
Guest Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I'm on dial-up and it loads really fast for me. How did you get those 'snowflakes' to run throughout the index page, even thru your header and other boxes? I'm using a snowfall background on my landing page, but I cannot figure out how to get that background to infiltrate the header, the info-boxes, etc. Love your site! Andrea
tina_boots Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Hi! Yes, I believe now it's ready to go live. Next week I'll add the products and start selling...or not... See my site here Oh, and I haven't added yet the key words and description... I love the colors you have chosen and at first glance your site feels inviting. A few things that I noticed, on a couple of category pages, the images are not being displayed, I am getting the red X. On the right hand column in the info box about half way down the font there seems to be different than the others on the page. The days in the calendar on the left hand side appear out of alignment. Other than those items I noticed, it looks very nice. I also enjoy the snowflakes. I feel that a forum is a very good idea, especially to establish a community. Although you might want to wait a little bit until you start building traffic to your site. It can be somewhat discouraging to visit a forum that is sparse on the number of posts. Once you start building traffic however chances are you will do much better. I would also suggest taking advantage of the newsletter function in osC. Be well, Tina If you're not having fun you're not doing it right Teach a person to fish rather than give them a loaf of bread or however that saying goes.
Guest Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Thank you so much Tina for your opinion! Those category images are missing because i haven't added any yet. I'm wainting to add products to tha site and for each category I'll put a specific item from it. That's just because I don't have a better idea. The fonts are different htere because I tried making all the fonts the same but something seems to go wrong, so I'll go back to the original, I guess. About the forum...yes, you are right. Having some traffic before Creating one would be best. And to observe the clients' reaction to it, I added a poll, asking how interesting they find this idea...maybe this way I'll have a better clue on when it's time to do that. I'm thinking to build it and put it on hold, and when time comes, just give it the green light.:) I know it's kind of hard to evaluate the site, being in Romanian, but you all know each opinion is constructive in its own way. I REALLY want to thank the OsComm community for all the help I got here, because without you I wouldn't have done anything. This is my first attempt to do something like this (I mean eventually to look professional). Just as a "joke", you may see my previous "work": here. I began playing with Dreamwever and this is how I got the idea...
Guest Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Please Roxana can you tell me about the photo image in your site??? What contribution is it? Manu thanks P.S. nice site

Andrea i can't find where I downloaded that script, but this is what you have to do: Add in catalog/index.php , just after the line that says: <!-- body //--> this: <script type="text/javascript" src="snow.js"> /*********************************************** * Snow Effect without images-by Kurt Grigg at http://www.btinternet.com/~kurt.grigg/javascript * Script featured & available at Dynamic Drive at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ * Please keep this notice intact ***********************************************/ </script> and here is the contents of snow.js (which you should create and put in catalog/ - where index.php is): //Snow - http://www.btinternet.com/~kurt.grigg/javascript if ((document.getElementById) && window.addEventListener || window.attachEvent){ (function(){ //Configure here. var num = 30; //Number of flakes var timer = 30; //setTimeout speed. Guest Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Now I see that the link was in that piece of code from below that body line. :) Please Roxana can you tell me about the photo image in your site???What contribution is it? Manu thanks P.S. nice site I added the coppermine contribution. Now, for some reason I can't seem to locate that in the contributions area... Maybe some one can give you details. If not, I'll try and give you the files from that contrib. Not sure how, but we'll manage somehow. And thank you for your appreciation

Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Hi! i've just added a phpBB forum, outside catalog/, but I tried to make it look like it's part of the site. Please take a look and tell me if it fits...It's still work in progress, but I need to know what else do you suggest so it all looks integrated. Thank you!
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Some changes made... Added a newsdesk contrib, some new links, text and boxes. Plus the forum I mentioned before. Could you take a look? here and the forum (not linked yet to the site) here. thanks!
Guest Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I've made some changes and added a games box: "Ora de joaca" See here. And here is the game itself. What do you think? Is it too unprofessional? I want to offer some interactive fun, since the site is dedicated to both children and parents and doesn't only sell stuff but offers information and fun too. i know it's a bit hard to offer advice because it's in Romanian, but I really need it to be good. I want to better than the competition. Could i give some links to their sites and you give me a comparison? Or this is not done? Thank you!
