Not real sure why this has happened, but in my admin all of my links are like a file name instead of simply catalof, orders, etc... here is a screenshot to show you what I meanScreen01.JPG

Please help if ya can, what files should I look at? I looked at admin/index and it looks fine, what else?

Thanks in advance

Check to make sure that your languages file is in the correct place.

Standard is: /catalog/admin/includes/languages/english.php

It's like it's not finding the language definitions.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

yeah, the file is in the right place, I am able to use admin and the site works fine, just the cosmetic issue of the admin area looking like crap, I would like it to look like it should....any other ideas? Thanks!

As Alan replied, that is the issue, its not finding your language file for some reason. Double check to make sure you don't have a syntax error or other issue which is causing the file not to be included properly.

He probably overwrote admin/includes/languages/english.php with the one from /catalog.

People manage to break things I've never broken so I have to creatively break an installation to figure out what they did.

I had the same problem a few months back,

I get it when i upload replacement files to the admin folder all at once,

I never found out why it happened or how to fix I ended up doing a clean install and then uploading my replacement file 1 by 1 and it works OK for me now

You can accomplish the result in the screen shot by deleting the contents of catalog/admin/includes/languages/english.php.

An easy way to check would be to select another language at the top.

I think I have to agree with tina, a syntax error makes sense, the problem is I am unsure of where. I compared my admin/index to a clean version of admim/index and they are identical. what other file in admin will be causing this? englich maybe?

Thanks guys for all the help!
