Onstar Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Hi, My site is not ranked yet, at least not anywhere near the top. When I went to google and typed my url in and searched it, google brought up the following result. oscommerce osCommerce ? My Account ? Cart Contents ? Checkout ? Top ? Catalog ? My Account | Cart Contents | Checkout. Categories. Men's shirt-> (7) pants However, I have more than 500 products and have since changed the Title in english.php. what do I need to change and where to make sure when site if finally indexed, the right stuff will show up at search results? Thanks

Thanks The reason why it says osCommerce is becuase you haven't changed your title tags. All that other stuff are just little blurps from your website that Google decided to put up for your results. I manually changed my title tags on my home page. I then used a contribution to dynamicly change my titles for the other pages
Onstar Posted December 8, 2005 Author Posted December 8, 2005 The reason why it says osCommerce is becuase you haven't changed your title tags. All that other stuff are just little blurps from your website that Google decided to put up for your results. I manually changed my title tags on my home page. I then used a contribution to dynamicly change my titles for the other pages I have the title changed a while ago. I just don't know when google put that up. It looks like the Men's Shirt-->(7) dates back to when I was still working on the site. -->(7) is part of the categories from the original catalog. My sites don't even have the --> anymore. So, I think it is from way back. Right now, on top of my home page, everything is fine. It doesn't say oscommerce. But doing a search on google, it will display that oscommerce stuff. I wonder if that will be ever changed. Thanks
