Hi,

After looking into OSC and its features we are extremely interested - however we need to know if it is capable of supporting a registration system?

We offer software for the mobile phone that translates phrases from english to other languages.

WE have a number of different products - all of which can be downloaded for free and trialed on the phone. At a later date if the user wishes to buy the software, they simply enter the serial number provided by the trial, pay for the item and recieve a registration key.

This then unlocks the trial into full version software.

Has anyone been able to incorporate such a system using OSC? Is this even possible? How would we go about doing this?

Thanks,

The fact that osC is open source in theory anyway, anything is possible. I am not aware of any contributions that have been written that would provide you with a prebuilt solution, however you might browse through them to see if you find anything. Just off the top of my head I could envision starting with the downloads process and then modifying the code to fit your needs. Instead of receiving a download link, you could present your customer with the unlock code. Just a thought.

Be well,
