Hi,

I know people will think this is a standard off the peg osCommerce set up which it is colors and all ,but it works well .I am getting 30-50 visits a day which isn't too bad,and about 1-2 sales.The thing that worries me is there is something turning off the customers as they pay,because there have been a handful of new customers signing up this week,adding to there basket then going no further.Any ideas,

I'd have to create an account and proceed thru checkout to help you diagnose what may be wrong there, and I'm just not comfortable doing that. Just me...not you, not your website. Perhaps you could go in as a test customer and go thru checkout and discover if there's anything weird going on there.

 

More than likely, people are just putting items in the cart to buy later. Buyers do that all the time.

 

My only pet-peeve about your website is that I have to scroll from left to right to see it all.

 

What's creating that are those three icons you have in the far right of your header. You don't need them and I would recommend removing them in order to to get your screen in order. No more left-to-right scrolling.

 

I like the wording of your Privacy Policy. I may borrow it. :)

Stepping through your checkout, I noticed that you don't charge for shipping? Even to the US thats sure nice. Not sure what the issue might be, the process went all the way though, What page do they seem to be leaving at?

Hi Andrea, yes I would agree about the icons and the scrolling problem, I just replaced the clip art ones that came as standard,it is fine on my PC but when it comes to my laptop I can see what you are saying,they will have to go.

 

Pleased you like the Privacy Policy ,it's to the point .

Hi Travis,many thanks for going through checkout. No we do not charge for shipping,well if items are sent to a UK address that is,we do try to make that clear on the home page,but not sure what we can do at the checkout to make it clear it is for UK addresses only?

 

Customers get to the stage you did Preparing [PayPal IPN] then go no further.They have created there account filled there basket go to checkout then let,it happened again last night. I have made a purchase and can not see a problem,but something is putting them off.

 

Any further thoughts would be most welcome,
