Permission warning that I can't fix

First, a brief history of the incident:

 

I have been testing and configuring oscommerce for roughly 4 months now on a live site. I recently decided to better organize my inventory and decided to download a file via easypopulate adv. I placed my site on maintenance and when I went to the site online to get a feel for what I needed to do and there was the

warning. I have set it to every setting possible and no luck. 405. 444, 705, 755. 754, 000, and nothing. I unistalled the ENTIRE OSCOMMERCE FROM THE SERVER, reinstalled it, and I get the same warning. Any suggestions?

After setting the permissions are you able to actually verify them on the server?

I forgot that some server do not recgonize outside ftp progam changes. I changed it through the server's cpanel and now it works, thank you.

If your server uses phpsuexec for security, you will need to set the permissions on both configure.php files to 511 to get that error to go away.
