I accidentally deleted all my categories and products on the Admin > Categories/Products. I do have an sql backup of the whole database. Can someone please help me restore the catalog on the website because there are no products showing at all!

Thank you - this is VERY urgent

It was done via sql throgh phpmyadmin.

I have been checking to see which tables are empty and reinserting the data from the sql backup files. But the products are not showing up in on the website.

try this

http://www.clipartinc.com/mysql.shtml

hope this helps

when you get it straightend out use the backup tool within osc to backup its much easier i think

also try to keep a copy of your backup on a separate computer or hard drive so if you have a drive failure you still have a backup

hope you get it

Thank you. It has taken me over 15 hours to reinstate the whole database (over 3,000 products). I had problems with the product descriptions and getting them up properly because of the \'s and " &34 characters in the HTML which came down . I took the product descriptions from the SQL backup file but they were all screwed so had to fix that up first.

I will be MORE careful in future when deleting folders from the admin categories/products section. I had typed in catalogues in the search box because I was deleting catalogues from my shop, but I did not notice that the whole shop's CATALOG came up as a folder, and I then proceeded on deleting all the catalogue folders thinking that I was just deleting folders called catalogue. WHAT A PAIN... It just came at the wrong time of the year when I don't want my shop out of action!
