Hello,

I'm totally new to this. Here's what I've done so far:

1. Downloaded osComm.

2. Unpacked it and uploaded the "catalog" folder to my web server (Php/MySql ready)

3. and then I try to start the install and get this error message:

"Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory."

4. the .htaccess file in the "catalog" folder contains the value "php_value register_globals 1" and I've also tried adding a php.ini file with a value.

5. I still get the same error...H E L P !

Ok now it works...GURU! :) But when I try the test online shop I get this error at the very top

"Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /customers/ninjadojo.com/ninjadojo.com/httpd.www/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file."

I did as the manual said, changed the permissions on the two configure.php files to 644, I can't change it to 444 though, my WS FTP program always change it back to "owner - write" permission. Still I get the error, again H E L P ! :)

Change it to 444 using your WS_FTP. I know it will show the values as a 644 at this time. Now refresh the server file list window. It should have corrected itself to the 444.

I use WS_FTP Home myself, sometimes when I change a permission it takes refreshing the server view screen to see the new permissions in place.

IF it still doesn't work and you default back to 644, head into your server c-panel and using that file manager, navigate over to the right directory and locate your configure.php file and set the correct permissions there.

WS FTP always go back to 644, so here comes the next question, I'm in the server con. file manager found the file, but where/how do I change permissions??
