life_maker Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Hallo in the 1st time to install oscommerce i got this error FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it! how can i solve it ONILNE?
♥Vger Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 It means that your hosting company has disabled the use of Register Globals in the main php.ini file on that server - for security reasons. Provided you have not modified your store with contributions then you can install the Register Globals Patch Files (link below my name). If you have installed contributions then you'll need to use the original Register Globals Patch (from Contributions) and apply the changes file by file, line by line. Be aware that my Register Globals Patch Files set of files is meant for osCommerce MS2 (original) and is not suitable for the updated and patched MS2 available from the Latest News link on the forum homepage. javierb14 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 ^^^ Our hositing service recently disabled the use of register globals on our server as well. I would like to run the patch so that everything runs smoothly, however our store has contributions so apparently it is not as simple as installing the patch. Exactly what files must be changed line to line in order for this to work properly? Or am I better off reinstalling osC with the patch and uploading the current database?
♥Vger Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 There are two Register Globals contributions. The one with the link below my name is a compiled set of files with the patch already applied to them. If you have installed contributions of your own you can't use that one. The other contribution is the original one, which just tells you what changes you have to make and to which files. That's the one you need to use. Vger
