Create an account & banner problems

I am working on a site for a friend and I haven't been able to figure out why her banners won't redirect to the link especified. Also, when you set up an account, you are taken to a blank page instead of the create_account_success.php file.

I checked her create_account.php and redirect.php files against the ones on my store (which work fine) and they seem identical, so I am thinking there might be a problem somewhere else - any idea where I should look?

Oh, about the banners, they worked a few weeks ago when I first installed them, so I am not sure why they stopped working now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Try the steps outlined in Fresh Install / Cant Create a New Account for the problems on creating an account.

As for banners, you might try the settings under "Banners" in the Admin/Tools. Could be they have completed their predetermined expiration date or cycles. If that's not the problem, please let us know, because I'm sure there are others out there (me included) who would be interested in a solution. I haven't done anything to banners as of yet, but I plan to in the future and advance notice sure is helpful.

I should have clarified something - the account IS created, the customer gets and email and the info is added to the database. The only problem is with the redirecting to the success page. The customer just gets a blank page instead.

The banners are installed properly, and as I said, they were working last time I checked, so I am not sure what is going on. Again, it is a redirect problem.

Wondering if the solution would fix both problems. <_<

I understand that the account is being created, email sent, etc. That was happening with my cart as well, only instead of the success page, I would either get a blank "poof" page or a 404 error. The solution listed in my previous post fixed that. I'm almost certain there is a contribution somewhere that I added that I didn't follow the directions on quite as well I should have and wound up with the error. One thing about it, it doesn't hurt to check, even if the problem isn't quite the same as we were experiencing on the linked in post.

Now if you've already checked it, then I'm sorry, but it was a suggested fix. Here's hoping you do get it repaired soon.

I don't have SSL enabled... not sure what to do then. Hmmm... I'll keep searching for it :)

Do you think it might have something to do with the dang register globals?
