Permission denied

Whenever I try to edit footer or header from administration area --> configuration ,

its giving me this error

You'll need to change the permissions for the file - "editable_footer.php" from within your FTP application to fix this error.

 

Try setting the permissions to 777.

I tried to chmod the file to 777 but its the same error..
