-Spazmatic-
I just reinstalled my store (thanks to my skills at doing things myself, I hurt it so bad I just decided to reinstall). I'd like to know if there's any way to get all those damn default products out of the store without manually doing it through the admin box. Also.....HOW DO YOU MERGE FILES?? :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Thank you!

-Spazmatic-
Here's a thread with some techniques: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45037 Dunno exactly what you mean by "merge". I want to use Option Type Feature v1.7 and it says this: STEP 2. Install files containing the feature into your version of osCommerce If you are using a clean osc-MS1 installation, then you can replace the files. But don't forget to backup your files first!!! Be especially careful with catalog/includes/configure.php. If you configure your web server and database in this file, then you will need to merge this file (not replace it) even when using osc-MS1. See instructions below on how to merge catalog/includes/configure.php. If you are not using a clean osc-MS1 installation then you must merge (*NOT* replace) the files. Now, I have MS2 (right? Milestone 2?) so I'd have to merge them. How?
-Spazmatic-
Bump. Apparently not a whole lot of people know how to do this, I've had 3 threads on the matter and no one knows what I should do :(
AlanR
Bump.Apparently not a whole lot of people know how to do this, I've had 3 threads on the matter and no one knows what I should do :( There's no magic, automatic, way to "merge" files. You have to study the two files and decide which sections to take from the new file to place into the original file and where. So you're looking for an answer that does not exist. Guest
is this one about option type feature or is this one about emptying a database?

So, just use ExamDiff or something similar? I thought so, I didn't know though. I've already tried just replacing them *like it said not to* and It messed my site up pretty bad. It's fixed now, and I've backed up, but I need to figure out how to actually use contributions :( But, you DO see why I am confused by this? It clearly says "merge files." is this one about option type feature or is this one about emptying a database? One what? Question? Well, it was about the database thing, but it's solved. I can't edit the title, and I didn't want to take up more bandwidth by making another thread. If it's already in discussion, why not, right?
