Guest
Hi I'm a newbie at this, sorry. During install, I've established a connection with the databse, but when I try to import I get this error... SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql Am I missing something? I checked and the file is there in the install directory?? Thanks for your time-
Guest
okay i think it has to do with where the file is located- mine is located in http://www.your-server.com/catalog/install and it says it needs it in: /home/username/public_html/catalog/ I don't know what that means? Am I supposed to create some directory? Do I name it /home/username/public_html/ ?? I have a feeling I'm missing something fairly easy. ..... Anyone.. anyone?? :)

ozcsys
That's what I've been following- I can't figure out what I'm missing :( If your hosting control panel had phpmyadmin for administating your database is is fairly easy to manually import the database. Just go to phpmyadmin, select the database, click on the sql tab at the top, browse to the sql file and click on enter. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Guest
okay- but the problem is that I'm an extreme noob. I already did that and it worked fine. But I wanted to go through the step by step install process and there is no way to bypass uploading the database. Once I manually import the database, where would I go from there? Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. :) maybe it's my host- anyone use godaddy?

I have seen quite a few database isssues related to godaddy and yahoo hosting. You may try doing a search for godaddy and see what comes up. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Guest
well I searched around about godaddy and it seems to be okay. I have the delux plan so I am able to use php. I still can't figure this out? If those two in my earlier post are the same location, why does it tell me file does not exist?? this is driving me nuts
Guest
There has to be a simple solution to this. I'm still getting the same problem- SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql But when I browse for the file in phpmyadmin, I can find it and import everything to the database. How can I get past the install hang up I keep getting? Is there a way to bypass it and install a different way? I've tried so many other options .... MADhase
This Problem is specific to Internet Information Server II (Windows Server 2003) based installations. I just managed to install a Windows Server 2003 at home and even managed to install PHP and MySQL... everything is running fine... ... the only thing is... I cannot transfer *.sql files via the web server. Thus I always get this error: "SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql" I even cannot download the file via browser. I'm not very sure about the settings, and where to look to give permissions for this. Maybe this information is help for someone to find a solution.
