Leeb2
When I download my site to my harddrive with leechFTP many of the files fail to download. What do you use to download your site and how are you sure you get every single file?
flood6
If you're getting errors downloading the individual files, you might try archiving the files on the server, then downloading the archive. If you're using a *nix server, just ssh into the machine and compress it with tar. I don't know how to do it with Windows, but I'm sure some Googling will turn up the answer. Good luck. kwalker
I can agree with using the "ssh" method. That's really strange... my very last post was a reply about setting permissions, but I advised using ssh to do so. If you are using a web site editor of some sort, you could use that program to get the whole site. You have choices like Dreamweaver, FrontPage, HomePAge and a host of others, out there. Plus ftp programs will do so too. But.... if you haven't used ssh yet...... do so..... you'll be glad you did. Oh.. by the way...... what is your internet connection? I have 2 computers side-by-side... 1 uses cable internet and the other is DSL, and I find that I have less errors on downloads with my cable........ Some times the internet connection can cause this too. If I can't get to one site.. I can type it in on the other computer and it'll connect. Kevin I can agree with using the "ssh" method. Kevin Just a note: When I use Dreamweaver to download/upload my files using my DSL, I have way too many connection errors, download, upload errors.... and not to mention waiting a long time before the error decides to popup, then having to re-connect. Totally complete process using cable with DW.
