Adyx
Hi, Im working on an old MS1 site, and the admin/tools/whos online seems to be minus some basic functionality in the respect of : ID = 0 Name = Guest Is displayed all the time for all visitors.. weird thing is that the rest on the info is fine. (IP / time / pages etc..) Any ideas why these two specific variables are not being carried or displayed correctly ? I have edited the config file to use sessions in the DB 'mysql' setting.. rather than the tmp dir, but that appears to have had no effect. Thank you for your help in advance :)
Adyx
As is often the case.. i have found a fix for this independant of the forums. So.. for anyone with the same problem.. here is the fix i used. Get a copy of the catalog/includes/functions/whos_online.php file from an MS2 store. Replace the catalog/includes/functions/whos_online.php file on your MS1 store. <Make a backup just incase this does not work for you> All being well, you should see IDs, and Names in the whois in the admin panel now.. (If the customer is logged in).
♥Vger
You really need to run the 'Update' from MS1 to MS2 (after making a backup of everything - just in case). The update from MS1 to MS2 is an option in the Install procedure, for which you need the install folder. Once you've done that (all being well) you should then manually apply the security fixes/patches for MS2 which are now available via the "Latest News" link at the top of the forum homepage. More and more websites are having their Contact Us page exploited by spammers, and also falling foul of the HTTP Header Injection (one poor soul ended up with a pop-up to a porn site on their homepage).
