QueenKat
Ok.. This is going to sound strange I am sure! So please bear with me.. I want to have my pictures so there's a thumbnail on the main screen but then when you click on it to enlarge, it actually enlarges! Right now, it doesn't it stays the same. Which I can understand partly because I have uploaded small pics to make them pretty much all the same so I don't have a 6" picture next to a 1" picture. without installing a contribution, is there a way to make it so my pics are all "about" the same size but then when you click on enlarge, they get enlarged? I am sorry if this is confusing but I don't know how else to describe it.. Thanks

amestres
anyone?? can someone please help?? In order for the pictures to enlarge when you click on "enlarge picture", they have to be created bigger originaly, ie, if you create and size the pictures in Photoshop for example as 50 pixels X 50 pixels with the code defining the size as 50x50, when you click enlarge it will show 50x50. If you crete a picture originbaly as 100x100 and the code says that the size must be 50x50, the picture will be automatically reduced to fit 50x50 but....when you click enlarge, then you'll se 100x100 let me know if not clear :)

But, what do you do about the pics that are squished down to 50X50 and they appear to be munchkin sized product? For some products this is fine to have them like that.. But for others, it really looks bad then they are either stretched to fit or shrunk to fit.. Know what I mean?

Know what I mean? it is an issue having pics down to "munchkin" size....one thing you can do to at least not have the picture deform/strech is that in admin under configuration/images, you set either the small image width to 0 or the small image height to 0, by doing that you will be able to control one of the 2 dimensions and the system wont try to fit the picture into the exact dimensions specified. ;)
HSMagic
The Image_Magic contribution should take care of all of your issues as well as give you faster load times by actually thumbnailing the pictures instead of giving html sizes on the actual pic. It's worth looking into and one of the easiest and most useful I've installed.
