New Customers Seeing Other Customers Details !!!!!

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just had a new customer on the phone telling me that as she was about to purchase an item and someone else?s details were in the screen.

It turns out that she added a product and clicked "Checkout" which should have then asked her to create an account; however it went through to add a delivery address!!! This is where she had another customers details already filled in etc.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN.

It just so happens that she called to book, but a colleague has just told me that someone else phoned with the same problem last week!!!

Anyone else had this problem or know how I can fix it?

Thanks,

Neil

Go into admin and turn off cache. I think that may be your problem. I think it is under Sessions or maybe even main set-up or min/max. I don't remember. I use a modified admin.

Thanks for the tip. I will give that a try. Would this happen to a new customer who had not visited the site before?

OK... i just checked and cache default is set to false!!!

What now?

Here is a theory I have:

On our main site I have a link to a category... within this link there is a session id:

/catalog/index.php?cPath=32&osCsid=ef7cccb473cb7cd6280736e5cf8200f8

If someone followed this link and purchased an item then the following day someone else follows this link is there are possibility it would use the same for both people causing the mixed up customers?

The only thing is there was 4 purchases previous to the problem today... I don?t know which link they are following as they could have followed the default on (/catalog/index.php), but it?s the only thing i can think of...

Would this be the problem?

Thanks

I have had the same problem, see this thread:

I have recreate session set to false in my admin, if this is set to true, does it automatically recreate a new session id, even if they click through from a search engine with an old session id?

Paul
