Error: FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

I'm attempting to install osCommerce by following the link: www.mysiteurl.com/catalog/install/. As soon as I attempt to go to the url I get the error: "FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!".

 

This is probably a newbie question, but I'm not sure where to find the php.ini file so I can attempt to enable register_global. Any ideas?
