Shared SSL not noticed?

Hello all,

I have just installed osCommerce on my website.

It was straightforward except it tells me in my admin console "you are not protected by a secure SSL connection."

I checked the box to enable SSL and added (what I thought) is all correct information for the paths.

I have a shared SSL with my host, and they gave me the paths in a confirmation email...

URL:

https://xdazzlingdiscounts.MerchantQuest.net/

Secure Document Root:

/big/dom/xdazzlingdiscounts/www/Secure_Server

in the install process I made the URL path to the shopping cart: https://xdazzlingdiscounts.com/merchantquest.net/catalog

(is this case sensitive, and is the extension catalog or something else needed?)

also I have specified the secure cookie domain as www.dazzlingdiscounts.com is this correct? or is it somethign to do with my shared domain?

secure cookie path is /catalog/

I have tried all combinations I can think of and nothing works.

Thanks,

-Jon

This is your shared ssl address:

https://xdazzlingdiscounts.merchantquest.net

You need to edit both configure.php files to refelect this. If you enabled ssl during the actual install procedure then it will point to a full ssl address and not shared. You should have installed without ssl and then reset the configure.php files afterwards.

does that need /catalog added onto the end of it at any point?

as of now i have this for the configure.php in Admin....

// Define the webserver and path parameters

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)

// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.dazzlingdiscounts.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.dazzlingdiscounts.com/catalog');

define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://xdazzlingdiscounts.merchantquest.net/catalog/');

define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true'); // secure webserver for catalog module

define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', '/big/dom/xdazzlingdiscounts/www/catalog/'); // where the pages are located on the server

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/big/dom/xdazzlingdiscounts/www/catalog/admin/'); // absolute pate required

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', 'http://www.dazzlingdiscounts.com/catalog/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/big/dom/xdazzlingdiscounts/www/catalog/'); //

and this for the other file located in includes.....

// Define the webserver and path parameters

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)

// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.dazzlingdiscounts.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://xdazzlingdiscounts.merchantquest.net'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.dazzlingdiscounts.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');

define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');

define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');

define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');

define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');

define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

Thanks,

-Jon
