I think the moderators pulled the other topic out without letting me know, thanks a ton. Anyways heres the issue.

I would use the domain name however this forum comes up very well in search engines. So instead I will re-explain using 'aaadd' as my wesite domain.

I use yahoo for my webhosting.

My settings in admin:

E-Mail Address: [email protected]

E-Mail From: root@localhost

config> Email options

E-Mail Transport Method smtp

E-Mail Linefeeds LF

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails false

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS false

Send E-Mails true

all settings the same if I act as a random user and go to contact us....

enter in the following

Name: Wilbur

Email address: [email protected]

An "Your email has been sent" Message will appear.

HOWEVER

No email is rec'd into my '[email protected]' email

instead I recieve an error in my temp folder 'result 9 2005 Nov 26 20:49:25 From address not in member domain. Message not sent.'

IF I

enter in the following

Name: Wilbur

Email address: [email protected]

An "Your email has been sent" Message will appear.

I will receive the email that should be sent to admin and on certain pages where the customer would receive a confirmation email the email would go thru to '[email protected]' and end up in the inbox also.

I have tried changing the root@localhost to [email protected] and nothing was sent either entry

Hopefully I am clear now. I appreciate the attempted help

I have resolved this issue on Yahoo. It was a lucky guess.

Update your email.php replace the SMTP section with this:

if (EMAIL_TRANSPORT == 'smtp') {

return mail($to_addr,$subject,$this->output);

}

}

And It will work. Yahoo hosting brothers and sisters peace and love. :thumbsup:
